Braided Gingerbread Cookies


This is such a good time of the year for baking cookies…

Braided gingerbread cookies
makes 12 pcs
You can use ready-made dough from your
Ikea store, or you can make your own;
2 dl water
1 dl syrup (molasses)
2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon of ground cloves
1 tablespoon of ground ginger
1 teaspoon of ground cardamom
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon of baking soda
300 gr butter
5 dl sugar
1.5 liters flour
2 packs (total of 1,1 kg) of gingerbread dough, i.e. Ikea
On a floured table roll out the dough into two 36x36cm sheets.
Using a sharp knife slice the dough to strips.
Create lattice pattern with strips of dough (as shown on the picture).
Cut out rounds with a cookie cutter (8 cm in diameter).
Bake in 200 ºC about 8 minutes.
